The F7 OptimalAoS-2201-5700 combines the scalability of eight dual-core Cavium OCTEON(R) processors, with the patent-pending flexibility of OQ-Par(tm) hardware partitioning technology, to provide a flexible and unparalleled price-performance system to meet networks traffic shaping needs.

The F7 OptimalAoS-2201-5700 device architecture delivers industry-leading performance with its "double twisted ladder" implementation of the Cavium Hyper-Transport Technology. This topology reduces average memory latency by minimizing the number of processor hops required to perform memory access and cache coherency operations in all the different partition configurations.

Overview

Industry-leading high scalability

The OptimalAoS-2201-5700 features up to eight Cavium OCTEON(R) processors, recognized as the leader in high performance and scalability, and up to 128 GB of memory, to meet the requirements of demanding enterprise application workloads at industry standard prices.

Integrated management software

F7's Optimal-center management software allows for easy configuration, deployment and management of your resources within minutes from a Command Line Interface (CLI). The out-of-band implementation of the interface provides simple management of resources without disrupting services and applications running on deployed partitions.

Enterprise-class reliability, availability, serviceability (RAS)

The OptimalAoS-2201-5700 meets RAS requirements for enterprise-class device with dual-redundant, hot-swappable power and cooling. Power modules are easily accessible from outside the chassis. Fans are accessible from a top cover and can be replaced while the chassis is rack-mounted. Processor and memory modules that are not part of a partition may be hot-plugged while the chassis is rack-mounted.

Investment protection

The OptimalAoS-2201-5700 features field upgradeable processor and memory modules, and an I/O module that can be upgraded independent of everything else in the system. Systems can grow with business needs, thus protecting your investment.

Hardware Partitioning

F7's unique OQ-Par(tm) technology allows the hardware resources in a single OptimalAoS-2201-5700 chassis to be partitioned into as many as four distinct fault-isolated devices, each running its own operating system image. Partitions can be created or reconfigured in minutes as business demands. This feature allows your business to right-size your resources to match application requirements, thereby improving the utilization of both your application and networking resources.

The OptimalAoS-2201-5700 can be configured in a matter of minutes as 2-, 4- or 8-socket devices with up to 16-cores of processor power with Cavium OCTEON(R) dual-core processors. The single chassis provides both the power and cooling along with redundant hot-swappable power supplies and fans.
